MISSION
The mission of the Crest Fire Safe Council is to foster a greater understanding of the wildfire threat in our community, to establish an effective communications network for our community, and to pro-actively implement programs and procedures for establishing fire prevention activities leading to the reduction of the threat for wildfire loss in our community.
VISION
Our shared vision of this fire safe council is to foster fire safe/fire wise communities that has developed through an ongoing course of public education, training, and community collaboration in project support.

The Crest Fire Safe Council was established in 2003 following the Cedar fire by Noelle Carranza, Debbie Milligan-Fox, Kathy Fiedor, and Kandhy Franklin. The purpose was to seek solutions to prevent another catastrophic event. The group has successfully implemented important steps in these areas which include:

The implementation of a community-wide emergency call system and email notification system.

The Crest Fire Safe Council also strives to educate the community about preparing for emergencies, creating defensible space around their homes, evacuation routes, and emergency shelter locations.
